Masazir Lake
Masazir salt lake is situated between Baku and Sumgait. It is one of the natural sources of salt production on the Absheron peninsula . Reaching into the lake from the town of the same name, we will see dug on the banks of white mounds of salt. Behind them, blurred figures wading in water up to his knees and drawing constantly wet salt. Together with them, stand in water old horse or UAZ car, which export the collected salt on the shore. There, the salt is stored and then packed into bags. This salt is sold covertly without any notification: salt is not only bought for leather working, dyeing threads but also obtained for preparing cheese, baking and so on. Consequently, we all appear to be potential consumers of this salt.
